Editing the template for new sequences

Using the File - New command or the icon creates a new empty sequence. However, it is possible to edit the template from which new sequences are created. As a result, a new sequence will already contain the pre-set parameters.

  1. Open the Sequence window.
  2. Use the File - Open... command or the icon to display the Open Sequence dialog.
  3. In the Open Sequence dialog, navigate to the COMMON directory (click the icon), and open the Template.seq file.

Note:

There are analogous new sequence template files available for the EA Extension (EATemplate.seq) and GPC Extension (GPCTemplate.seq).

  1. Set parameters in the new sequence template as necessary and save the file.

A new sequence created using the File - New command or the icon will contain the parameters as set in the Template.seq file.

Caution:

The sequence template files located in the COMMON directory are not project-specific, they are common to the whole Clarity station. It is however possible to set up custom locations of the Project directories for each Instrument. This includes having separate COMMON directories, and thus separate sequence template files. See the chapter "Setting up project directories" for more details.
