How to work with Kovats Retention Index in Clarity?
Precondition:
The Retention indexes columns are hidden in the default layout of Clarity tables (Reten. Index in Clarity corresponds to Kovats Retention Index).
To display them in both the Calibration window and the Chromatogram window:
- Open the Calibration (Chromatogram) window.
- Point the cursor in the calibration table (or Results table in Chromatogram) and click the right mouse button.
- A local menu will pop up, and select the Setup Columns command.
- In the Setup Columns dialog, select Reten. index in the hidden columns list, click the Show button, and then OK.
- Now, the Retention indexes will be visible in the table.
To set the indexes:
- In the calibration table, fill in the Retention indexes to the corresponding peaks. The other peaks leave at zero value.
- Do not forget to save the calibration.
- Open the Chromatogram, that uses the calibration.
- In the result table, you will see the retention indexes.
Unretained peak:
If you need to use the Unretained Peak, follow these steps:
- In the Calibration window, open the Calibration Options and turn on the Retention Indexes with the Unretained Peak option.
- Change the Unretained Peak [min] value in the Method Setup - Advanced tab.
- If you want to change the value in the Chromatogram, click the Results - Performance Table menu in the Chromatogram window first.
