Agilent ICF Control

Clarity utilizes Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF), a tool developed and provided by Agilent. In addition to ICF itself, Clarity includes four driver packages (LC, ELSD, GC and HS drivers) for Agilent instruments, as well as several third-party drivers.

ICF provides a unified driver environment and enables the use of Agilent-developed RC.NET drivers for Agilent instruments in any software package that supports ICF interface. It also allows the use of third-party-developed RC.NET drivers for non-Agilent instruments. More information regarding Agilent ICF can be found on the Agilent website or here.

Different versions of Clarity include different versions of ICF. Each Clarity version requires a specific ICF version and corresponding driver package to function properly; it is not possible to use mismatched ICF versions.

Compatibility between Clarity versions, ICF versions, and Agilent driver packages is listed in the table below. Compatibility of third-party drivers is available on their respective product pages.
